  • Max Coins: 84 million vertcoins (4x the Amount of Bitcoin)
  • Block Time: 2.5 minutes (4x faster than Bitcoin blockchain and 4x  throughput capacity
    than Bitcoin blockchain)
  • Block Rewards: 50 coins per block. Subsidy halves every 840,000 blocks (~4 years just like Bitcoin)
  • Difficulty Re-Target Time:  Every block with Kimotos Gravity Well algorithm

From October through December 2018, Vertcoin suffered from 51% attacks. Vertcoin is a Bitcoin clone that aims to be ASIC-resistant by hard forking to new mining algorithms whenever ASICs are deployed on the network. On 1 December 2019 603 blocks were removed from the VTC main chain and replaced by 553 attacker blocks. We note that 600 blocks is the current confirmation requirement for VTC on Bittrex.
